National University College Evaluates Skills and Readiness of Online Students with SmarterMeasure™
Previously, National University College used outdated self-assessment questionnaires to evaluate the readiness of potential online students. This self-evaluation–while well-intentioned–did not offer concrete data. Staff at the college’s distance-education department felt this tool could not accurately diagnose student readiness. For better results, they let SmarterMeasure tell the real story.
About the University
Founded in 1983, National University College is a proprietary, private university with two locations in Puerto Rico. The school–accredited by the Council of Higher Education of Puerto Rico and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education–is the only degree-granting institution in the commonwealth with a centralized online-education department. The institution began offering online courses in 2007 and offered its first online degrees in 2009 with the formation of their distance education department. The institution offers undergraduate studies in arts, business, education, and sciences–as well as graduate studies in criminal justice. It currently serves approximately 600 online students.
